Remembering Noah Nairne

We mourn the death of young Noah Nairne, a member of GTEV Maple Leaf Almrausch of Ottawa.  Noah passed away on October 2, 2013, at the age of 12 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of Richard Nairne and Brenda Carpentier and a loving brother to Bianca. Noah is the 4^th generation of Schuhplattler in the family, following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather the late Joe Schneider, founder of D’Chiemgauer Winnipeg, his grandparents William “Bill” Nairne and wife Brigitte (Schneider), and his parents Richy and Brenda.  Noah was a regular at dancing events, and despite his tender age, he has left a legacy with some of our younger Trachtler who benefited from his guidance at weekly practices. Although his time was short, he touched many lives, his infectious smile and loving nature warmed the hearts of everyone who met him.
