Friday, July 14
2:00 – 4:00 Zeig mir deine Lederhose und ich sage dir, wo du herkommst
Location: Aloewood Room
Presented by: Klaus Hornell, Die Gemütlichen Schuhplattler, Anaheim
Enjoy a review of Lederhosen history and developments since the late 1700s, early 1800s to present day. Experience particular regions of Bavaria and Austria by a presentation of Lederhosen tied to localities, or the actual Säckler. A special emphasis will be put on Tirol, Südtirol, Salzburger Land and Salzkammergut regions. Tying it all together, the workshop will end with a Q&A session and possible activity for participants to partake in.
Saturday, July 15
1:00 – 3:00 Zwiefacher tanz'n- what is it and how can I dance it?
Location: Volksmusikstube – Zambezi Room Presented by: Adam Levine, Alt Washingtonia
After a brief overview of the Zwiefacher, participants will learn the lyrics and dance steps to several common Zwiefacher. including Unsa oida Kath, Leut'l muas lusti sein, s' Luada and Suserl. This interactive workshop will have everyone up and dancing.
These dances may be reviewed again at the afterhours party in the Volksmusikstube depending on interest. Handouts with lyrics and music will be included to take back to your Verein to perform at your local Oktoberfest!
