New Nominations Procedure for Delegates Meeting 2020

Update 2/18/2020:  Three current Ausschuss members have chosen not to run for reelection.  The positions are Gauschriftführer, Gauarchivar, and (one) Gaubeisitzer. 

During the 2018 Delegates Meeting, the Nominations Committee introduced changes to the Nominations and Election process for the Gauverband. A nomination form was introduced on which candidates could introduce themselves to the Gauverband and describe the qualities that would make them a good candidate for the Gauausschuss position they were seeking.

Leveraging our 2018 Delegates Meeting nomination process, we asked for feedback from the delegates. Based on that feedback we heard that in addition to having a nomination form, candidates should have the opportunity to briefly speak. Additionally, changes were made to simplify the nomination form and provide guidelines to limit the length of a candidate’s response. You can find and download the nomination form at the links below. Completed forms, including a picture, should be emailed back to the Nominations Committee at Nominations@gauverband.com. All candidates, including incumbents must fill out (submit) a form! Trachtler/innen who wish to run for more than one position should submit a separate form for each office for which they want to run. Keep in mind that each application should be written with a focus on the separate positions. For example, if you would like to run for Kassier, but would also be of great service to the Gauverband as a Revisor, fill out a form for each position. All forms received by March 7, 2020, will be included in the Delegates Meeting package that is sent out to the Gauverband Vereine by the Gauschriftführer. At the time the package is sent out, all forms received will be posted as a link on the Gauverband website. Nomination forms will continue to be accepted via email and posted to the Gauverband website prior to the Delegates Meeting. Forms received between April 11, 2020, and April 25, 2020, at 8 pm will be posted at the Delegates Meeting but not on the website. Nominations from the floor will still be accepted on Sunday morning at the Delegates Meeting. Candidates will be afforded up to 3 minutes to make final remarks prior to the vote; however, candidates are not required to make these final remarks.
