2013 Gauverband Nordamerika Ausschuß Meeting

The Gauverband Nordamerika Ausschuß, consisting of twenty officers, met March 2-3, 2013 in Milwaukee, WI. Friday evening the officers toured the hotels and convention center venues for the 2015 Gaufest in Milwuakee.  Reports were submitted by officers and committees. Many topics were discussed including the 100 Jahre Trachtenvereine in Nordamerika which will be acknowledged by a commemorative pin designed in a contest, and the 50 Jahre Gauverband Nordamerika to be celebrated in 2016 at the Gauverband Delegates' Meeting.  A Chronik will be published to commemorate the  50th anniversary along with an historical video.  Gauverband Nordamerika has been invited to participate in the Oktoberfest Trachten- und Schützenzug as well as the "Oide Wies'n" in Munich in 2014.  Possible topics for future Gaufeste and Delegates' Meetings were presented by the Education Committee. Corrections to the Gauverband website were discussed. The next Ausschuß meeting will be hosted by the Delaware Sängerbund, May 2, 2014 before the Delegates' Meeting.
