2019 Feb. 2 - Schlierachtaler Stamm's Night in Vienna

The Schlierachtaler Stamm will once again relive the grandeur and opulence of a bygone era at their annual Night in Vienna grand ball. Travel back in time to 19th century Vienna where the beauty of the waltz is evident as the ladies glide gracefully across the dance floor in their elegant gowns to music of the great composers - Strauss, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert to name a few. The evening begins in style as you enter the exquisite Leonard's Palazzo 555, which palazzo by definition is a large splendid building or residence such as a "palace". And, palatial indeed is the atmosphere at Leonard's with breathtaking hand-painted murals, a grand staircase, fountains, chandeliers of imported cut crystal, antique furnishings, and dozens of antique seeded glass lanterns. This setting is truly reminiscent of those elegant balls held at Hofburg Palace during the Habsburg Empire.
An elaborate cocktail hour begins promptly at 6:00 p.m. with assorted appetizers, champagne, and top shelf liquor throughout the evening. But, be sure to leave room for a gourmet dinner of Filet Mignon, Chicken Francese, Eggplant Pomodoro, or Stuffed Fillet of Sole prepared by the European-inspired chefs at Leonard’s.
Upon completion of the cocktail hour, the Kauriga Orchestra begins the dancing in true Viennese etiquette as your hosts for the evening, the members of the Schlierachtaler Stamm, parade into the ballroom in a formal procession. Your hosts begin the evening’s dancing with one of the most popular pieces of music of the classical repertoire from Johann Strauss II the Blue Danube. After a few minutes, the conductor announces “Alles Walzer” and the guests join in with five more hours of dancing ranging from waltzes, tangos, foxtrots, polkas and even a grand march. Towards the end of the evening, all guests are encouraged to join in the highlight dance of the evening, the famous Radetzky Grand March.
And then it’s “dessert heaven” for those dessert aficionados. The luxurious Viennese hour features such a wide variety of sweets to satisfy every palate. There is so much to choose from with desserts ranging from pastries, cookies, chocolate fountains, ice cream with a variety of toppings, aperitifs in chocolate cups, and cordials.
Come share a magical evening with the Schlierachtaler Stamm in the true style that the great Barons and Baronesses of the European dynasties enjoyed decades ago in Vienna, Austria.
